Little blue penguin (Eudyptula minor) seen while on a deep-sea fishing trip a couple of kilometres offshore of Great Barrier island. Sadly, there numbers are declining, but these are still relatively common in the waters of the Hauraki gulf and I often saw them during my ferry commute to the city from Waiheke island when I was living on Waiheke.
