New Zealand fantail (Rhipidura fuliginosa) poses for photo to be taken in Tawharanui regional park. A charming bird with a distinctive cheeping call that flits effortless through the native bush chasing small insects on the wing. Often seems to follow trampers, perhaps because they disturb prey items as they pass. Can also be called down from the trees by imitating the cheeping call.
